  13. Your idea is just fine. I do it all the time. I send sequential files from
  14. my office on an old C64 to an IBM 486. You need a better terminal program
  15. than Windows 3.11 has. It takes two people to do it because we are doing
  16. it over the phone.  But, I also transcribe old WordWriter files and put
  17. them directly into my IBM right here at home (by myself) using modems.
  18. Wordwriter doesn't use ASCII. I forget what they call it. But I assembled
  19. a quicky little ML program to change them to ASCII. There may be many of
  20. these programs around and mine isn't professional but works just fine. If
  21. you need it, I will send the code to you (or mail you the program). You
  22. can do this at home with only one phone. I read the instructions about
  23. typing ATA and ATO in the terminal programs but my modems wouldn't connect
  24. doing that. Find some old modems.  Your idea will work OK. If you still
  25. need more help with this, let me know and I will help you
