- Russ,
- Your idea is just fine. I do it all the time. I send sequential files from
- my office on an old C64 to an IBM 486. You need a better terminal program
- than Windows 3.11 has. It takes two people to do it because we are doing
- it over the phone. But, I also transcribe old WordWriter files and put
- them directly into my IBM right here at home (by myself) using modems.
- Wordwriter doesn't use ASCII. I forget what they call it. But I assembled
- a quicky little ML program to change them to ASCII. There may be many of
- these programs around and mine isn't professional but works just fine. If
- you need it, I will send the code to you (or mail you the program). You
- can do this at home with only one phone. I read the instructions about
- typing ATA and ATO in the terminal programs but my modems wouldn't connect
- doing that. Find some old modems. Your idea will work OK. If you still
- need more help with this, let me know and I will help you
- Jim
